This is a real danger of outsourcing. Asia in general is rampant with pirated software even within large established companies. It’s just common practice and normal to everyone.
When we started 10 years ago I understood that and took measures, even when we had a tiny number of 8 people working for us. The US system requires best of class security so the decision was made to purchase all hardware and software within the US and ship to the Philippines.
We carry that philosophy to this day. However you source your vendor to be diligent and make informed choices.
