Phones are the gateway to both RPM and remote wellness. Over ten years ago I was the person responsible for my parents’ tech and buying and configuring a phone was as challenging as any work project requiring a deep analysis on tech, usability, costs, and future proofing.
I would see them once a year and do in-person checks and updates and had to assess whether a change was needed.
Throughout the rest of the year was the sometimes tortuous task of common maintenance.
Now we go through the same analysis and there are staff dedicated to helping people and patients so they can stay online and connected to their medical and wellness systems. It’s challenging and I look forward to the day this is not such a heavy lift.
