The main barrier to a business’ online success is the lack of human resource to initiate marketing strategies. Would you rather make your own house from scratch or would you hire professionals? The logical answer is to hire creative and experienced people.

You need to determine the best courses of action in tackling this goal. Like, think about which is more efficient for your needs – to hire an in-house web management team or to just outsource the task?
“What’s all the fuss? All I need is a writer,” you say. Wrong. Aside from an experienced writer you’ll also need somebody to handle other aspects of content marketing. You’ll also need a web developer who will provide maintenance, monitoring, etc for the website. And, of course, to make the website itself.

Then, there’s the need to hire a graphic designer who’ll work on the look and feel of your content marketing campaign. We’ll all get tired of the pre-made templates some time.

Finally, you’ll need a videographer for your audio/visual needs.

To Outsource or Not to Outsource?

In the online marketing industry, the first concern would be the cost. According to the current rates from Payscale the web management team you’ll be needing would cost $24,000 – $8200 individually. These figures do not include employee benefits and other hiring costs.

So, if the figures above are just within your budget and you need to have the ability to alter projects right away, then hiring an in-house team is the way to go.

But, if just thinking about these costs gives you a headache, then outsourcing might be your saving grace. Outsourcing can give you a pool of talented individuals that can cater to your web development needs and you don’t even need to see them in person.

You may also want to consider the duration of your project. If you only need web expertise for a job or two then outsourcing is the sound choice. If it’s for a longer term or a more permanent one, then an in-house team is the more fruitful option.

Simply put, it all boils down to two considerations: total cost and time range of the work to be done.
