With approximately 50 billion page views per month, Craigslist offers substantial visibility for real estate agents’ listings and services online. This site is easy to use but the challenging part is how you keep track of your ads and making sure that you post them at a regular time interval.
Putting up batches of ads will consume a considerable amount of your time. A real estate assistant will surely come in handy in keeping track of the posting schedule while you keep yourself engaged with clients.
Here we give you tips on how to easily outsource your Craigslist ad posting through simple processes:
1. Assign Craigslist accounts corresponding to posting days
Assign various Craigslist accounts to be used for posting ads. If postings will be done 5 days a week on weekdays, it will be ideal to have 5 corresponding Craigslist accounts to prevent spamming.
Remember that each account requires a phone number for verification purposes. Once in a while, Craigslist will ask for verification to complete ad postings. In these cases, your assistant will enter the corresponding phone number for a particular account in the phone verification field. Craigslist will then send a verification code to the phone number via call or text. Once the code is received, the assistant needs to put this in the code verification field to continue posting.
2. Group ads according to its posting schedule
Prepare a list of ads in a word document to be posted on different days from Monday to Friday. Label the ads according to the day they should be posted (e.g. Monday ads, Tuesday ads, Wednesday ads, etc).
Arrange the ads in a way that they are grouped together according to the time of the day you want them posted. This will help prevent duplication and will give your ads better exposure in Craigslist.
Save the photos for these ads in photo sharing sites like Flickr or Photobucket and give your assistant access to them. Photo sharing sites give codes for image URL which your assistant can use to upload images to your ads.
3. Work with HTML Codes
With HTML, you can use different font styles, special characters, links to your website, etc. which plain text does not allow. Craigslist Ad HTML Generators like Classified Ad Wizard make it easier for you to experiment with HTML codes. Just choose among the free templates provided in the site and you can start rolling.
For instance, if you select “Social Media” template, you can have your ad linked to your social media accounts like Google+, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube. To insert an image, copy the image address/image URL of a particular photo from your website or your Flickr/Photobucket account and insert it in the designated field of the HTML Generator’s window.
Click “Preview” to see how your ad looks like on a normal web window. Once all the ad elements have been arranged, click “Get Code” to download HTML code that you can use to post on Craigslist.
Craigslist ads have long been a marketing strategy used by real estate agents, but then we all know how it can eat so much of one’s time. When you can afford it, outsourcing this task to a real estate assistant is the best way to go.
