If there’s anyone who’s experiencing unimaginable levels of stress, it is our healthcare workers (HCWs). Being at the frontlines means dealing with hundreds of patients and deaths while fearing for their own safety and their families’. Colorado Nurse Tara Rynders knows exactly what medical workers are going through. As an artist, she designed an arts-based workshop to help her fellow HCWs alleviate compassion fatigue and nursing burnout.
The COVID-19 pandemic has taken a toll on people’s mental health. While social distancing keeps individuals safe, it disconnects us from each other and creates a sense of isolation. To help mitigate these feelings when working from home, we engage our staff through online activities like webinars, interactive virtual activities like Bingo, and picture contests to keep everyone engaged and connected. We recently had a webinar about Burnout and Stress Management with a mental health expert, as well as Health and Safety with our Workplace Safety Officer to keep everyone physically and mentally healthy.
